Description
Network Audio Bridge The Matrix Audio NT-1 is a high-end network digital transport that brings streaming, local archiving, and precision clocking into a single, quiet, linear-powered chassis. It anchors a system with stable network playback, audio-focused outputs, CD ripping, and flexible storage options — giving you a dependable digital front end that fits neatly into an audiophile chain.
A new generation of streaming design The NT-1 adopts Matrix Audio’s newest design language and the same streaming hardware platform used in the M Series. It runs a more powerful processing core and a refined display, creating a smooth, responsive interface that supports long listening sessions without distraction.
Evolving software for daily use The MA Player operating system and MA Remote App continue to add features over time. Both iOS and Android devices pair naturally with the transport, giving you direct control over browsing, playback, library management, and transport functions from your phone or tablet.
Streaming services integrated directly The NT-1 places TIDAL, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, and internet radio inside the transport, reducing the need for external devices. Stream high-resolution libraries with consistent decoding and handoff to your DAC over optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, or IIS-LVDS.
Protocols built for modern libraries Roon Ready, Audirvana, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, QPlay, and UPnP/DLNA support give you multiple ways to move audio across your home network. The NT-1 handles discovery and routing quietly in the background, leaving you free to use the control method that fits your habits.
Local and cloud music access Users who store music on a NAS can mount it directly to the transport and browse it like a built-in library. Cloud storage from Baidu Netdisk can also be mounted, allowing remote libraries to behave as if they were local.
0 ports let you attach both a USB drive and a USB CD drive simultaneously. This keeps physical media fully usable in a modern streaming system, with fast file access and stable, noise-reduced reading.
Simple file management The MA Remote App enables copying music from attached USB storage into internal SSD storage. No computer required — just direct file transfer into your library for long-term listening.
CD playback and ripping Connect a USB CD drive to play discs natively or rip them to internal storage. Metadata and album art are fetched during import, and users can edit tags directly in the MA Remote App for clean, well-organized archiving.
NVMe SSD storage with low-noise power An NVMe SSD slot on the bottom panel lets you expand internal storage. The SSD is powered by an isolated, ultra-low-noise supply that reduces electrical interference and keeps mechanical noise out of the listening space.
Shared storage across your network With SMB sharing enabled, any computer on your network can access the NT-1’s internal storage. The transport can also function as a small NAS, allowing other streamers on the same network to play its archived music.
Smart wake and trigger control The NT-1 wakes automatically when streaming begins or local music is selected. A rear trigger port can start a connected DAC or amplifier, creating a coordinated power sequence that reduces manual switching.
High-stability clock system The femtosecond clock and RF synthesizer deliver low-phase-noise performance in both internal and external clock modes. When paired with the Matrix Audio SC-1 external clock, the NT-1 synchronizes to an even higher-precision reference for users who want maximum timing accuracy.
Comprehensive digital outputs Optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, and IIS-LVDS outputs provide compatibility with a wide range of DACs and active speakers. Users who connect digital-input monitors can enable digital volume control and adjust output level directly from the transport.
Isolated USB DAC interface An audio-specific USB port uses electrical isolation to reduce ground noise and transmission interference. A dedicated low-noise linear regulator feeds this port separately from the digital section, preserving signal purity through the entire digital chain.
Flexible network expansion The SFP port supports optional optical or Ethernet modules. When paired with Matrix Audio’s audio-grade network switch, this creates a stable, noise-reduced connection path suitable for high-resolution playback.
Full linear power system A 60 W toroidal transformer and multiple LDO stages form the foundation of the NT-1’s power architecture. Independent windings feed the digital engine and USB DAC interface separately, reducing electrical coupling and maintaining stable operation under varying loads.
